LEADING OUR YOUTH IN TRANSFORMATION

Discipleship Focus

At Good News Youth, our discipleship focus shapes everything we do — from weekly gatherings to life groups and outreach.

  • Passion for Jesus

We want every student to develop a deep love for Jesus, rooted in a growing understanding of God’s Word and a personal, vibrant prayer life.

  • Lost Youth Saved

We equip and inspire students to boldly share their faith, invite friends to encounter Jesus, and help others grow through authentic life group community.

  • Prepared to Lead

We challenge students to take initiative, live with integrity, and influence others by leading with courage and Christlike character.

  • Called to a Mission

We help students discover God’s purpose for their lives by engaging in local and global ministry and learning to follow His call with confidence.

  • Godly Relationships

We encourage students to build strong, Christ-centered friendships where they can grow, be challenged, and support one another in faith.

Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers

Youth FAQ

Whether you're a parent or a student, we've answered some of the most common questions about Good News Youth—so you know what to expect and how to get involved.

  • What grades can attend Good News Youth?

Students can begin attending Good News Youth the summer before 7th grade. After graduating high school, they transition into Good News Young Adults.

  • When and where does Youth meet?

Our main weekly gathering is Wednesday nights from 6:30–8:30pm in the Student Auditorium at Good News Church. We also host events throughout the year at various times and locations. To stay in the loop, sign up for our email updates and sync the youth calendar to yours.

  • Do I need to register my student to attend?

Most weekly gatherings don’t require registration. For special events, we’ll let you know when a sign-up is needed. First-time guest? You can fill out a quick form so we’re ready to welcome you when you arrive!

  • Can my student bring a friend?

Absolutely! Friends are always welcome—especially those who are curious about faith or looking for a place to belong.

  • Is there anything they should bring?

A Bible, a notebook, and a pen are always helpful—but not required. Just come ready to learn and connect.

  • What safety measures are in place?

Every leader goes through an in-depth screening process that includes regular background checks, reference checks, interviews, and a review of their character by family and church community.

We also prioritize safety with clear boundaries—like ensuring students and leaders are never alone, having same-gender leaders for prayer and mentorship, and involving parents in sensitive conversations.

  • How are students supervised during events?

For overnight trips, we ensure three or more students and/or leaders per room, with no shared beds. For shorter events, students may have more freedom to come and go, but we ask parents to arrange timely pickups. Our leaders always stay until every student is safely on their way home.
