Sundays at Good News Church

Every Sunday, your child will be welcomed into a safe, age-appropriate environment where they can grow in their relationship with Jesus through engaging stories, worship, and activities designed just for them.

Ages 0-1
Wee Kids

Our nursery has three cozy, age-specific rooms for infants, crawlers, and walkers—each one a safe and loving space where your little one is gently cared for and introduced to God’s love through play, worship, and stories.

Ages 2 – Kindergarten
Grow Kids

Our preschool spaces are full of joy, creativity, and opportunities to meet Jesus in meaningful ways. Through play, crafts, snacks, stories, songs, and even puppets, kids discover God’s love in a way they can understand. Our caring volunteers are passionate about helping your little ones grow in faith and have a whole lot of fun along the way.

1st-6th Grade
Up Kids

Kids Church is where faith comes to life! Your child will experience high-energy worship, engaging Bible teaching through skits, puppets, stories, and object lessons—plus plenty of games, prizes, and laughter along the way. It’s everything you’d hope for in church, just made for kids. Honestly, it’s the kind of kids church you wish you had growing up.

Kindergarten - 6th Grade
Junior Bible Quiz

Junior Bible Quiz (JBQ) is a fun and interactive way for kids to learn God’s Word and hide it in their hearts. Through friendly competition and team-based learning, JBQ helps kids grow in confidence, community, and their understanding of the Bible. JBQ is offered during the school year at the 9:30am service for kids who are ready to dig deeper into Scripture in a meaningful and exciting way.

Helping Kids Grow as Disciples

8 Keys of Lifelong Discipleship

At Good News Kids, we’re not just helping children know about Jesus—we’re guiding them to become lifelong disciples of Him. That’s why we have the 8 Keys—spiritual goals that shape how kids grow in their faith, build character, and live out their purpose.

  • Biblically Fluent

Kids will know and love God’s Word, learning how to use it to guide their lives and make wise choices.

"Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path." - Psalm 119:105

  • Responsive in Worship

Kids will develop a heart of worship, freely expressing their love and gratitude to God.

"I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak His praises." - Psalm 134:1

  • Powerful in Prayer

Kids will learn to talk with God with confidence, knowing He hears and responds.

"As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength." - Psalm 1 3 8 : 3

  • Spirit Empowered

Kids will understand who the Holy Spirit is and how He helps them live with boldness and purpose.

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." - Acts 1:8

  • Bold in Faith

Kids will grow in courage to trust God, speak truth, and live out their faith in everyday life.

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a Spirit of power, of love and of self- discipline." - 1 Timothy 1:7

  • Giving Selflessly

Kids will learn to give joyfully—of their time, talents, and treasures—out of love for God and others.

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." - 1 Corinthians 9:7

  • Actively Serving

Kids will discover the joy of putting others first by serving with a willing heart.

"If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all." - Mark 9:35

  • Living Like Christ

Kids will be shaped by the character of Jesus, learning to live with love, purpose, and integrity.

"For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago." - Ephesians 2:10

Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers!

FAQ’s

We know leaving your child in someone else’s care is a big deal—and we want you to feel confident every step of the way. From safety procedures to what to bring on Sunday, our FAQ section is here to give you peace of mind and help you feel prepared.

  • How old do my kids need to be to attend church services?

We have age-specific environments so every child can have a fun, meaningful experience that’s just right for them:

    • Wee Kids: Ages 0–23 months
    • Grow Kids: Ages 2–Kindergarten
    • Up Kids: Grades 1–6

Each space is designed to meet kids where they are developmentally, helping them feel safe, seen, and excited to learn about Jesus while you enjoy the service.

  • What should I bring to church for my kids?

Here’s what to bring based on your child’s age:

    • Wee Kids (0–23 months): Diapers, a pacifier, a bottle, and any specific snacks they need.
    • Grow Kids (2 years–Kindergarten): A spare diaper or pull-up if needed.
    • Up Kids (1st–6th Grade): A Bible, so they can follow along and participate during their service.
  • What happens if my child needs me during service?

If your child needs you during the service, a Kids Ministry leader will either send you a text or give you a call to let you know it's time to come check in on them.

  • Can I stay with my child if they’re nervous?

Absolutely. We understand that new environments can be overwhelming. You're welcome to stay for a few minutes to help your child get settled—we want them (and you!) to feel comfortable.

  • How do I know that my kids will be safe?

Your child’s safety is our top priority. We’ve created a secure and loving environment through:

    • Screened & Trained Mentors: Every Kids mentor is background checked, trained, and clearly identified with a white name tag. Only women 18+ change diapers.
    • On-Site Security: A dedicated team is always present to keep an eye on the building and grounds.
    • Emergency Preparedness: We regularly practice safety drills and have clear plans in place if any situation arises.
    • Secure Check-In: Every child is checked in and out using a tag system—only the adult with the matching claim tag can pick them up.
    • Locked Areas: Kids Ministry doors are shut and locked 20 minutes after service begins. After that time, only scheduled volunteers and parents are allowed access.
    • Safe Ratios: We follow specific adult-to-child ratios in our younger rooms to ensure every child is properly cared for.
  • What is your sick policy?

If your child isn’t feeling well, we ask that you keep them home to help protect other kids and families. If a child begins to show symptoms while in our care, we’ll contact you right away. We want every child to feel comfortable, cared for, and safe during their time with us.

  • What if my kid has allergies?

We are a nut-free space, and the snack of the day is always posted outside the classroom. You’re welcome to send a snack from home if your child has dietary needs. Be sure to inform our Check-In Team about any allergies—these are printed on your child’s tag so all mentors are aware and can keep them safe.

  • Do you offer support for kids with special needs?

We want every child to feel welcome and loved. If your child has specific needs, we’d love to connect with you before Sunday so we can provide the best experience possible. Just let us know how we can partner with you!

  • What curriculum is used?

We use the Bible Engagement Project, a Bible-based, interactive curriculum that walks kids through the entire story of Scripture. Each week includes age-appropriate lessons, storytelling, worship, and hands-on activities that help kids not just learn about God—but truly know Him.

  • How do you handle baptisms for kids?

We don’t baptize babies, but we do offer a Child Dedication Class to help parents understand and celebrate the decision to raise their child to follow Jesus.

We do baptize kids in 5th grade and older who can clearly express their faith in Jesus. If your child is ready to take that step, we’d love to walk through the process with you!

  • How do I dedicate my child?

Dedications take place during our main services at 9:30 and 11:15am, four times a year. Before the dedication, we’ll invite you to a short class that walks through what the dedication means, the commitment you’re making, and some helpful resources for the parenting road ahead. We’d be honored to walk alongside you in this exciting season!
